Section 975.01. End of commitments; declaration of policy.

- (1) No person may be committed under this chapter after July 1, 1980.(2) The legislature finds and declares that persons violating s. 940.225 , 948.02 , 948.025 or 948.06 or committing crimes when motivated by a desire for sexual excitement may be in need of specialized treatment. The legislature intends that the department should provide treatment for those persons.
