- Every state officer, other than a district attorney, maintaining a permanent office at the city of Madison, shall make and file annually with the department an inventory of all public printing of the 2nd and 3rd classes and all maps and charts on hand for distribution on July 1. The department shall require the return to it of all such printing as has become, in its opinion, of no further use to the office reporting the same.
