An Act
to amend
340.01 (2g); and
to create
23.33 (6) (f), 23.33 (6) (g) and 340.01 (27g) of the statutes;
relating to:
the width and tire requirements for an all-terrain vehicle.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

23.33 (6) (f) of the statutes is created to read:

(6)
(f) An all-terrain vehicle may not be modified so that its maximum width exceeds 50 inches.

(g) An all-terrain vehicle may not be operated with tires other than low-pressure tires.

340.01 (2g) of the statutes is amended to read:

(2g)
"All-terrain vehicle" means an engine-driven device which has a net weight of 900 pounds or less, which
has
is originally manufactured with
a width of

inches or less, which is equipped with a seat designed to be straddled by the operator and which is designed
by the manufacturer
to travel on 3 or more low-pressure tires.
A low-pressure tire is a tire which has a minimum width of 6 inches, which is designed to be mounted on a rim with a maximum diameter of 12 inches and which is designed to be inflated with an operating pressure not to exceed 6 pounds per square inch as recommended by the manufacturer.

"Low-pressure tire" means a tire that has a minimum width of 6 inches and that is designed to be inflated with an operating pressure not to exceed 10 pounds per square inch as recommended by the manufacturer.
