    An Act relating to: amending and revising under s. 10.53 various provisions of ss. 10.62 to 10.82 of the statutes for the purpose of correcting conflicts between the listings in ss. 10.62 to 10.82 and the substantive statutes to which those sections refer. (Correction Bill).
    The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
    Section 1 . 10.66 (2) (a) 1. of the statutes is amended to read:
    10.66 (2) (a) 1. December 1 preceding the spring election is the earliest date nomination papers may be circulated for candidates running in the spring election. See ss. 8.05 (3) (a) and (4) (b) and 8.10 (2).
    Note: Adds clarifying language.
    Section 2 . 10.66 (2) (a) 3. of the statutes is created to read:
    10.66 (2) (a) 3. The deadline for electors of a village to file a petition requesting a primary for the spring election is December 1 preceding the spring election. See s. 8.11 (1m) (c).
    Note: Creates provision consistent with 2007 Wis. Act 83 , section 4 .
    Section 3 . 10.66 (3) (aw) of the statutes is renumbered 10.66 (3) (aw) 1. and amended to read:
    10.66 (3) (aw) 1. The deadline for a city or village to decide to hold a spring primary or for the spring election is 3 days after the first Tuesday in January preceding the spring election, or the next day if Tuesday is a holiday. See ss. 8.10 (2) and 8.11 (1) (a) and 8.11 (1m) (a).
    2. The deadline for electors of a city to file a petition requesting a spring primary for the spring election is 3 days after the first Tuesday in January preceding the spring election , or the next day if Tuesday is a holiday. See ss. 8.10 (2) and 8.11 (1) (a) and (c).
    Note: 2007 Wis. Act 83 , section 4 , makes the deadline for deciding to hold a spring primary applicable to villages.
    Section 4 . 10.70 (1u) (a) of the statutes is created to read:
    10.70 (1u) December. (a) December 1. The deadline for electors of a village to file a petition requesting a primary for the spring election is December 1 preceding the spring election. See s. 8.11 (1m) (c).
    Note: Creates provision consistent with 2007 Wis. Act 83 , section 4 .
    Section 5 . 10.70 (2) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
    10.70 (2) (b) 3 days after first Tuesday in January. The deadline for electors of a city to file a petition a city requesting a primary for the spring election is 3 days after the first Tuesday in January preceding the spring election , or the next day if Tuesday is a holiday. See ss. 8.10 (2) and 8.11 (1) (c).
