An Act
to amend
86.195 (2) (ag) 8. of the statutes;
relating to:
specific information signs on certain portions of STH 21.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

86.195 (2) (ag) 8. of the statutes is amended to read:

(ag) 8. STH 21 from I 94 north of Tomah
to CTH "Z" in the town of Strongs Prairie in Adams County and from STH 13 north of the village of Friendship in Adams County
to USH 41 at Oshkosh.

Nonstatutory provisions.
(1) Notwithstanding section 86.195 (2) (ag) 8. of the statutes, after the effective date of this subsection, the department of transportation may not issue or renew any permit for a business sign, as defined in section 86.195 (1) (ar) of the statutes, that is mounted, or intended to be mounted, on a specific information sign, as defined in section 86.195 (1) (d) of the statutes, erected on STH 21 from CTH "Z" to STH 13 in Adams County. No later than July 1, 2011, the department of transportation shall remove all specific information signs erected on STH 21 from CTH "Z" to STH 13 in Adams County.
(2)
After the effective date of this subsection, for purposes of section 86.196 (2) (m), (3), and (4) of the statutes, the department of transportation shall treat STH 21 from CTH "Z" to STH 13 in Adams County as though it is not designated in section 86.195 (2) (ag) of the statutes for specific information signs.

Effective dates.
This act takes effect on the day after publication, except as follows:

The treatment of section 86.195 (2) (ag) 8. of the statutes takes effect on July 1, 2011.
